Artist's Bio

Ever since my childhood I have been attracted to the colors and vibrancy of glass. One simple beginner stained glass class in 1982 started my journey with glass.

Through the years working with glass has filled me with a sense of accomplishment and integrity, and it has proven to be a vehicle for translating vision into reality. My influences and inspirations come from everything that surrounds me, nature, feelings and life's experiences. Through dedication and fate in 2002, I opened my business "LeTort Glass Studio" into a full retail glass shop. It has grown with me as a artisan and currently provides, retail space for glass supplies, a gallery, and ample creative workspace. It is a full time profession as I build custom stained glass windows and doors and teach beginner to advanced glass classes.

Kiln formed and Cold working glass has provided me with a diversity in my personal body of work. Each project consists of multiple techniques and different themes. Heating glass and manipulating hot molten glass gives me the ability to form shapes, textures, and color. Sometimes happy accidents influence my next project. This also allows me to accept any mistakes. Glass has taught me a new type of patience which carries into other aspects of my life. My motivation as an artisan  and a human is to always attempt to better myself. I will continue to study glass techniques avidly.

" What decides wheather or not something is Art is how it is experienced by its audience, not by the intention of its creator."
